FIRM OVERVIEW

Dawson & Associates was founded in 2007 by Shane M. Dawson. After learning the ropes about workers' compensation as a Criminal Investigator with the the BWC's Fraud Department, Shane defended employers at both large and small, specialized firms. Today the attorneys at Dawson & Associates bring more than 98 years of experience to assist our clients. Our firm's goal is to provide expertise representing the interests of employers in the areas of workers' compensation defense, employment related counseling and litigation, intentional tort defense and administrative law. We do not try to be all things to all clients, we practice what we know - and we know it well. While many of the cases we handle are litigated before the Ohio Industrial Commission, Ohio administrative agencies such as the Civil Rights Commission and state courts, we have successfully handled cases before the U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. District Courts and Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Our clients include businesses of all sizes and from a wide range of industries. We represent small, family-owned landscape companies, international corporations and the largest retail companies in the world with the same commitment to personal service and a dedication to achieving results in our clients' best interest. Our role ranges from counseling and advising to active litigation and managing litigation. Our focus on employment related issues, including workplace injuries, has allowed us to develop an understanding of the legal trends in a particular area of the law as well as how those trends impact the liability and bottom line for our clients.

In the area of employment law, the law can be difficult for employers regardless of their experience level. In the area of workers' compensation, the law in Ohio can seem downright bizarre. While it's not rocket science, these are highly specialized and highly litigated areas of law in Ohio for which you need an experienced advocate to guide you through the process.

We know that Ohio employers have a number of choices when it comes to choosing attorneys. Many are more than competent for the job and most can well satisfy the needs of their clients. We also know that companies, whether large or small, are managed by people and people don't hire law firms, they hire lawyers. The personal relationship with and confidence in the attorney on the other end of the telephone (or email) is more important than the names on the letterhead. Therefore, we pledge to provide quality service that strives to exceed our clients' expectations. This is our measure of success.
